Humor final assignment

HUMOUR FINAL ASSIGNMENT

The two skits that Trevor and I did were examples of satire the first skit was a example of satire because we used a lot of witty puns during the dialogue. Such as how when the police man asked how high I was, I corrected him by saying no officer it is hi how are you but the cop literally meant what he said. Plus the punch line of course, where the cop said that I am under arrest for assault with a deadly weapon then hold up a salt shaker and a knife like a salt with a deadly weapon. This is funny because the two things sound very much alike but mean two different things misleading the audience. This is a form of satire because things are not as they seem to be and there are many examples of play on words like I said before. The second skit is about a hot dog vendor but he dose not sell actual hot dogs he sells dogs, but Trevor's character dose not know that so he acts as if he were buying a hot dog and asks for condiments on it. The vendor knows that it is a dog so he is selling, so he thinks that Trevor is crazy which after you know the punch line when I the vendor bring the dog in the audience    figure out why I thought he was crazy and that is funny. This is satire because there is mistaken identified like how the vendor sold actual dogs not hot dogs. I conclusion these skits were forms of satire and that is why this project is humorous.

Satire example link 1
This is satire because it is making fun of how if you are a hot celebrity you can make money off of doing anything. This article really emphasizes the fact that we are all slaves to the media an the famous and rich control how we live.
satire example link 2
This is satire because it shows that although the media may almost complete control how we act sometimes we just don't care and the media should focus on important news story.
Satire video
this video is satire because it is making fun of how the republican party is in denial about how they are pretty much out of the race and how they are almost making fun of themselves by saying almost 3 different times that they had lost every other election.

Satire news story

Amusement Park builds life long memories.
“The Cove” once known for its atrocities against dolphins may soon be known as an amusement park esque destination that will be fun for the whole family. According to Taiji Mayor Kazutaka Sangen “You can swim with the dolphins mere hours before they meet their brutal demise”. It truly is a unique experience, after the kids spend the day splashing around in the beautifully red tinted water you can send them off to bed and learn about the rich culture that has been built around years of disrespect for marine life. However this amazing experience doesn’t come free as it costs $399 to spend
a weekend at the resort. This money will go to good use as it will be spent on spear repair, harpoons, and it will be donated to Pro Animal Cruelty charities such as “Clubs 4 Seals”, “This will ensure a better time for both you, and the dolphins” said Hachiro Atsuko the head of maintenance at the resort. So come on down to the park where some lives begin and others end.

What is funny?

Humour is to me something that makes fun of or mocks our own society to prove that we are not perfect. I also enjoy physical humour such as a video of a person falling on a skateboard or tripping and falling. This may be a pain for the person falling but is funny to those who watch. I also find the more original comedy funny such as funny faces. with a Little well placed text these can be hilarious.FALLING Picture Society mocking

The Migrant Experience

I'm what people call a migrant worker my name is Jim i left my farm in Oklahoma to peruse work in California. I have been in California for 2 months now and have gone Through 3 jobs so far. I came here like most of the others from the dust bowl on rout 66. We came here because we heard it had a mild climate and a wide array of crops. I'm lucky to have a job right now sense the unemployment rate is 30%. I blow all my money on whiskey and don't have a penny to my name. I'm hoping to buy my own piece of land and have people work for me. But first thing is first I have to find a way to keep this job.

-Sincerely Jim
